For years, our conference has been more than just a gathering—it’s been a space where ideas thrive, connections grow, and inspiration takes center stage. Fondly known by its participants as the “Conference with Soul”, it owes its spirit to the warmth, enthusiasm, and engagement of both organizers and participants, many of whom return year after year.
While this year brings a change in both the name of the Conference, as well as the destination – from the Island of Brač to the coastal town of Brela, our dedication to creating a memorable and welcoming experience, providing an inspiring setting for exchanging ideas and forging connections, remains steadfast.
Welcome to Brela, Croatia
Brela, the location of our upcoming FEBST International conference, offers a stimulating atmosphere that invigorates the mind and soul. The small Dalmatian town is embraced by the Adriatic Sea and nestles on the spectacular slopes of the Biokovo mountain. It is well known for its breathtaking scenery, which includes six kilometres of pristine pebble beaches and lush pine forests.
Punta Rata Beach, often praised as one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, lies at the heart of Brela’s allure. It is well known for its smooth pebbles and pristine blue waters, and, most notably, for the famous Brela Stone. This small offshore islet, crowned by pine trees, has become a symbol of the town’s natural beauty and a popular photo opportunity for visitors.
Rising above the town, Biokovo provides an impressive backdrop and allows adventurous visitors to explore its untamed beauty. Hiking trails lead to expansive viewpoints, such as the Biokovo Skywalk, a glass-platform lookout that juts out over the cliffs and offers unparalleled views of the Adriatic coast.
The secluded Vruja Bay is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet. Vruja is mainly accessible by boat and is known for its pristine beaches and underwater freshwater springs.
But Brela is not only known for its natural beauty. It is also a place rich in cultural heritage and warm hospitality. As you stroll through the town, you can discover traditional Dalmatian stone houses, historic churches, and charming local markets. The culinary scene is a delightful exploration of Mediterranean flavours, with fresh seafood, locally sourced produce, and Croatian wines.
We look forward to sharing the wonders of Brela with you during our conference. This enchanting town promises not only a productive academic gathering, but also an unforgettable experience filled with beauty, culture, and inspiration.
