Venue for the coming Conference – Bluesun Hotel Soline**** is an architectural masterpiece inspired by the Brutalist style. The architecture of Brutalism stands out even from afar, with its cascading elements that blend perfectly with the rocky backdrop of the Biokovo mountain.
Designed by the renowned architect Julije de Luca, the hotel was originally built in 1983 and underwent its latest renovation in 2022. The property consists of two sections: the main building and the annexe “Mirna”, covering an area of 6,781 m². De Luca envisioned a harmonious fusion of nature, the sea, and the Biokovo. Located just 20 metres from the pristine shoreline, the hotel offers breath-taking views of the coast from most of its 208 rooms. Room types include standard, superior, premium, and suites, all equipped with amenities such as a balcony, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, satellite LCD television, minibar, and an in-room safe. In addition to the well-equipped rooms, the hotel boasts a variety of other exceptional features, beginning with its outstanding restaurants and bars.
The main hotel restaurant, featuring an elegant interior and a spacious terrace right on the promenade, offers buffet-style breakfast and dinner with live “show cooking.”
The hotel’s à la carte restaurant, SOL Mediterranean Dining, is renowned for its innovative reinterpretations of Dalmatian classics, prepared and presented using the finest local ingredients.
Among the hotel’s bars, the SOL Bar stands out, which blends the modern ambiance of an urban bar with an authentic Mediterranean setting making it ideal for long coffee breaks, exclusive cocktails, or premium drinks. Just a few steps away is Timun Bar, the ideal spot for a morning coffee paired with an excellent selection of pastries.
For the FEBST International Conference participants, the conference facilities are a top priority. Research presentations will be held in one of the three conference halls: Punta Rata, Stomarica, and Podrače, with seating capacities ranging from 53 to 270 and a total capacity of 435 seats. The largest hall, Punta Rata, benefits from natural daylight. All halls are fully equipped with state-of-the-art audio and video technology.
Bluesun Hotel Soline also provides a rich array of wellness facilities. Its 1,500 m² Wellness Centre, one of the largest on the Makarska Riviera, includes indoor and outdoor pools, the Wellness Oasis whirlpools, a Finnish sauna, a steam bath, and a relaxation zone featuring a sun terrace and an outdoor garden. A fully equipped fitness centre is also available. The hotel is ideally located just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre and the Punta Rata Beach, making it the perfect base for exploring a variety of activities or embarking on short trips.
The true heart of Bluesun Hotel Soline lies in its employees, who embody the very best of Croatian hospitality. This commitment to guest satisfaction and ongoing service excellence has earned the hotel numerous achievements and awards. These include recognitions from the Croatian Chamber of Economy, the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Croatia, and leading tour operators and booking platforms, such as the TUI Top Quality and ITS Red Star Award.
Last but not least, the hotel has been working diligently on its sustainability policy, addressing internal matters such as employment, labour, and human rights while remaining committed to preserving the natural environment. It has also established strong ties with the local community and actively supports its projects.
